Kyle Kotary currently serves on the Bethlehem Town Board and was elected in 2005.
Kyle is a member of the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce, the Nathaniel Adams Blanchard Post Sons of the American Legion, the Bethlehem Grange No. 137, the Bethlehem Historical Association, Bethlehem Quadricentennial Committee, and the Albany County and Bethlehem Democratic Committees. In addition, he serves on the boards of Parsons Child & Family Center and the Family and Children's Service of the Capital Region.
Kyle and his wife Laura Jane live in Delmar and are the proud parents of three young children who attend Bethlehem schools.
Kyle Kotary is founder and president of Empire Public Affairs, an Albany-based communications firm specializing in public affairs, public relations and association communications. He is also a founding partner of GC&E Campaign Strategies, a political consulting and campaign communications firm.
As a principal of both Empire Public Affairs and GC&E Campaign Strategies, Kyle specializes in state and federal association consulting, media relations, message development, crisis management, campaign strategy and management, and public policy implementation. He frequently gives political analysis and commentary on television and radio, including the statewide broadcast of Capital News 9 - Capital Tonight.
Over the past two decades Kyle has held a variety of senior-level communications and policy positions in government. He served as press secretary to Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan, Gov. David Paterson, Sen. Malcolm Smith and former State Comptroller Carl McCall. In addition, he has held senior staff positions in the New York State Senate and Assembly, New York State Comptroller's office,
U.S. Senate and House of Representatives and in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services during the Clinton Administration. Kyle also served on the staff of Vice President Al Gore in both governmental and campaign capacities.
Kyle earned a Master of Public Administration degree from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University and a B.A. in Government and Economics from Hamilton College.
